Model 533/16
Description and information on Super Ikonta Model 533/16 its history and how it works. 8 cm Zeiss Tessar, iris diaphragm to f22. The model numbers began with a 530 series and followed by the 531, 532, 533, & 534 series. The final Super Ikonta folders were the Super Ikonta III and Super Ikonta IV. Both were in 6x6 format and had the advantage of a film winding mechanism which allowed the film to be advanced without having to watch numbers in red windows. Year of construction. Based on the serial number of the Tessar 7cm, f3.5, it appears the lens dates from 1935. The camera serial number is: 40075.
During WWII Hubert Nerwin thought about a new 35mm folder. The results of his thoughts were developed after the war to Zeiss Ikon's first completely new postwar product, made since 1948 as Ikonta 522/24. As Zeiss was unable to produce sufficient Tessar lenses (due to war damage to their production facilities), this is one of the few Zeiss models ever to feature a non-Zeiss (Schneider Xenar. No 258646) was not the shutter serial (which was engraved on the side) or model number, but a German patent number. Super Ikonta C (530/2) The Super Ikonta range was introduced in the early 1930s in several models for different film frame sizes, including the Super Ikonta A, B and C for 4.5x6, 6x6 and 6x9cm, respectively. Zeiss Ikon Serial Numbers 1926 to 1939 (Cameras). The development of the Ikonta and Super Ikonta (I) Otto, B. Disassembly of the Super Nettel I (Cameras). The Leica discretely engraves its serial number into the hot shoe, while the Zeiss Ikon loudly engraves it in an opposite color in big numbers on the top cover; one more thing to black out before heading into the field. The rangefinder frameline illumination window of the Zeiss is coated ground glass, while Leica has only used plastic since 1964.
